Just the Facts:

Once considered THE place to be for Liason fans, The Canvas Messageboard (AKA TC) was created in 2001 by three gals, Candy, Casey and Koko. They developed an administer user account and email, "CanvasLiason" however rarely used this. As explained by Koko: Candy was the one who originally created the board in 2001. It was the first time we'd ever used Ezboard, and Candy created the user canvasliason and then the community. We all then created at the local accounts with our names, candy, casey and koko. It's when we met a lot of you then, we posted ALL the time. Eventually the whole Ezboard global user became an issue and we created CANVAS only accounts, like Canvas Admin, Canvas Publisher etc, and other personal accounts because seriously who wants to post as the Canvas Admin on an OC board?

As the board become more and more popular, they decided to put in place moderators to help with the day to day tasks of monitoring the board. 2 of those moderaters were Brooke and Amy.

Casey and Koko continued to visit TC, despite claims that they were never around. They continued to keep in contact with TC posters, despite claims they were never available.

In March 2008, an announcement went out at TC that the board had been "gifted" to the moderators, Brooke and Amy.

In April 2008, Casey and Koko came forward stating that the board was never "gifted" to anyone and was in fact stolen.

How can this happen? It's much easier than you would think. Remember the user accounts?

Brooke admitted to contacting Yuku regarding "a personal issue". Brooke admitted to telling Yuku she was not able to contact Casey and/or Koko. Yuku stated they would try to contact them for her.

Yuku sent several emails to the "CanvasLiason" user account, and to this account only. The same account the was no longer used.

After several weeks, Yuku claimed the board was abandoned and would be shut down if there was not a new owner appointed.

Brooke stepped forward and took the postion.

Brooke nor Amy ever tried to contact Casey and Koko via personal email, cell phone,
home phone, etc.

Casey and Koko discovered the theft, and requested the board be returned. Their request was refused, being told they had "abandoned" the board.

TC has undergone many changes in the last several months since the takeover. One of the most disheartening is the fact that anyone who tried to voice their disagreement with how things were done were banned, restricted or just had their posts deleted. I know, because I was one of them. I had a link to my profile in my signature, encouraging people to know the truth about how things went down. I was put on "restriction" and told that my signature was damaging to TC. When I asked for specifics as to how it was damaging, I was ignored.

There was a thread put up for several hours about the takeover, and then locked, told there would be no further discussion. Posters were told that once a final decision was reached, a post would be make about it. There have been writers who's stories are deleted, told that it wasn't appropriate because it came from Elizabeth's point of view and was "ranting". Writers who's fics are deleted because they didn't agree with how Brooke handled things. Or writer's who's fics were deleted for not following some sort of unspoken rules of how Liason fan fic should be. There were posters who, when discussing another aspect of GH they enjoyed, were accused of not being good "Liason fans". In part, TC is no longer a community with that supports and embraces all sorts of viewpoints and opnions, but a place where one is only allowed to think and express their thoughts the way the owner wants you to.

On 05/07/08, I decided I could no longer, in good conscience continue to be a member of a board that was dishonest. This was not an easy decision, as I have been an active member of TC since 2003. I participated in fan campaigns, fundraisers, and truly enjoyed being part of a community that loved a soap couple as much as I did.

To date, one is still now allowed to question Brooke's takeover of TC, without risk of having their post deleted and being "warned" that they are destructive to the board. To date, no "decision" has been posted on TC. No discussion has taken place, and the true owners of TC remain banned from their own site.
